The Jar of Good Things is where all of the “good” moments go. The idea is that whenever something good happens you write it down and put it into the jar. Then, at the end of the year you can go through it and remember all of the good things from that year.
I originally got the idea from a YouTuber named Alyx. (The name of her channel is ayydubs.) She made a video explaining the purpose of the jar and why she decided to make one. In the video, she also went through and read all the good things that happened to her in 2014.
I think this is a brilliant idea, and because we just started the new year, I decided to make my own jar for 2015.What better way to keep track of the wonderful moments in your year than putting them into a jar?!
Of course you can decorate your jar however you’d like, but today I’m going to show you how I did mine:
I purchased my supplies from our local Michaels Craft Store, but I’m sure your craft store carries the same, or very similar, materials. Shown below is a bottle of clear decoupage glue and sealer with a brush applicator ($3.99), iridescent glitter in the color “crystal mint” ($5.99), and alphabet stickers ($4.99). I also bought a generic mason jar ($0.99) and applied masking tape to the areas I didn’t want any glitter.
