After what seemed like ages, Easter finally arrived this past weekend and I couldn’t have been more excited. This year, for the duration of Lent, I gave up sweets, junk food and fried food. Now, you might ask, “Why on Earth would you do such a thing?” My response is: Because I got really bad about eating unhealthy stuff after Christmas and I just couldn’t stop. So I chose to kill two birds with one stone and use Lent as a way to live healthier, while also sacrificing a luxury in my life.
Let me tell you, it was NOT easy. I found myself constantly craving muffins, coffee cake, chocolate chip cookies – you name it! I kept wanting popcorn on movie nights and sweet potato fries with my lunch. Trust me, it became difficult very quick.
Now that Lent is over I am back to snacking on chocolate covered blueberries and handfuls of goldfish crackers. Oh, and I’m slowly making my way through the ginormous bag of chocolate bunnies, Hershey kisses and Reeses mini eggs. They’re not going to eat themselves, now are they! ; )
